Financial results regularly outperform competitors as they provide solutions for large companies, the Small & Medium Business sector, federal, state, and local governments.
This business is a direct-to-end-user-customers provider of equipment, software, and Managed IT Services from internet network management to Cloud solutions, computer and IT solutions integrations, and help desk services. Among its range of solutions is a suite of document production systems spanning copiers and printers, commercial office print and scan applications, and the high volume production graphics segment.
The company regularly outperforms the industry with its hardware, software, design/integration, and services technologies used by all key classes of trade: Small and Medium Business, not-for-profit, education, legal, healthcare, enterprise, and governmental.
General Manager - Full P&L
Reports to a nationwide USA division executive who reports to the President.
This is a succession opportunity for an external executive to join our client company’s leadership team. This is a high profile opportunity for an experienced sales, marketing, and P&L executive to join this global market leader during a period of multi-year momentum and exceptional differentiation in the market. One's ability to answer rising market demand and complexity will enable them to bridge growth, innovation, and selective turnaround skills to elevate the people, functions, and activities of highest leverage.
To run an autonomous business unit P&L, aligned with offsite USA headquarter's corporate goals, revenues, services, and customer acquisition and satisfaction among the geography's End-user customers.
This position is tasked with directing the entirety of business activities for a multi-locations marketplace P&L encompassing a specific regionally-geographic organization.
Responsibilities directly and via managerial subordinates:
Full Profit & Loss responsibility
Top line revenue and bottom line profitability that is at or exceeds annual plans
Full responsibility for all financial and KPI performance aspects of Marketplace including sales, administration, services, physical and soft assets, talent acquisition and development, etc.
Strategic planning to expand market share; marketing plan and go-to-market strategy
Sales revenue performance
Talent and Culture
Maintaining and enhancing a very positive culture of respect and initiative.
Supervision of sales, services, solutions, operations, and financial management
Proactive adherence to corporate policy and procedure
Manage processes for outstanding customer satisfaction in the marketplace
Work closely with corporate Human Resources to ensure proper staffing of all positions
Work closely with local and corporate Finance leadership
Day-to-day operation of facilities and other assets
Customer Priorities and Marketplace
As needed travel among locations within geography and to Corporate HQ as needed
Strategic contributions, presentations, and sales contributions to Major accounts
Drive prospecting and attracting of new major account clients while maintaining current major account relationships with accountability for and from the sales management leaders
Identify, sponsor, and participate in public relations, community events, and goodwill activities
BASIC CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
This is a breakout career opportunity for a Sales or Marketing VP or Director, or a District or General Manager, to run a fully independent business and P&L.
Experiences should include 10-15+ year career progression to a current manager of managers role in middle or senior-level leadership:
Current or recent past experience in the direct selling of technology and/or industrial premises or enterprise solutions using network-placed digital equipment, be it storage hardware, servers, Cloud-based systems monitoring systems, security systems, or other applications; for example building and office/campus solutions from energy controls to air and water management.
Management experience which delivers revenues from Small & Medium Business to large private, middle market public and private, Fortune 2000 public companies, and governmental.
Experience selling digital network hardware and software solutions with service contracts and professional and/or IT services.
Experience and appreciation for the non-price-position enjoyed by a leading brand within a solutions selling approach.
Experience with upper-end devices and solutions packages driven by connecting software, but also lower volume/utilization sales; each into middle market and small business applications.
Strong track record attracting and retaining top talent with an eye for recruiting others into high growth dynamic environments.
Industry and customer-facing: recognized as a trusted technology/business process advisor.
